First good night from the road

Stopped for the first night, and didn’t cover as much ground as I’d planned: left home way too late because the garage door broke last night and locked the bike inside! Couldn’t help thinking that the house didn’t want to see me go… Great first day, though, and now it’s all about finding that “road routine”: packing, unpacking, getting ready for rain, and so forth. I’m guessing it will all become second nature in a matter of a few days more. A big, huge THANK YOU to all who liked and posted the nice comments and best wishes here on the blog and also on FB. It really makes the trip even more special!

As for the first hotel, it’s not really worth mentioning, just the first place I found when I got tired. But it feels better than any Four Seasons!
