From a one-night stop in Coulterville, California, back in 2015. After riding for a couple of days around Yosemite, I headed to the coast and found this cozy tiny settlement almost by chance. It was a mining town when founded in the mid-1800s and is now a California Historical Landmark with a population of 201 by the 2010 census.
The combination of quietude and an inspirational starry night made for a surprising pause at a special place. Coulterville is now on my list for a new visit someday.
