My still-unnamed Hertz Ride BMW R1200GS at the famous ‘Passo dello Stelvio’, on a route that crossed four countries on the same day. In the Alps, you cross countries easier than you cross counties in the US. The Stelvio is another ‘cult’ road around here, so this iconic mountain pass on Italy and Switzerland’s border couldn’t be left out of the ‘Alpine Routes’ itinerary.
From there, the first crossing into Austria, exploring picturesque backroads and postcard-like little villages. Next was a stop at Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany’s Bavarian Alps, before ending the day back in Austria for a relaxing evening in charming Innsbruck. Long days on the road have never felt so easy!
